What is EN590 10PPM?
EN590 is a specification for automotive diesel. The commercial description “10PPM” refers to a sulfur limit of 10 mg/kg by mass; it does not, by itself, establish compliance with the complete specification. Buyers should name the applicable standard edition and destination requirements in the contract.
Commercial applications
ULSD is used in compatible diesel vehicles and commercial fleets. Industrial or off-road applications can have different regulatory and equipment requirements. Confirm the intended use before comparing offers; the lowest quoted price is unhelpful if the grade cannot be imported or used at destination.
Typical specification considerations
Ask for a complete specification schedule with units, limits and test methods. A recent sample report describes the sample tested; it is not a guarantee of a future petroleum cargo.
- Sulfur content, density and cetane characteristics.
- Distillation, flash point, viscosity and lubricity.
- FAME content, water, total contamination and oxidation stability.
- Seasonal cold-flow requirements appropriate to the destination.
FOB EN590 and CIF EN590
For a sea shipment, compare FOB loading arrangements with CIF freight and insurance arrangements. Name the port and Incoterms edition. A tank-to-tank movement needs its own transfer provisions; labeling it “FOB” does not define the tank transfer, title or payment trigger.
Buyer documentation and ICPO requirements
Provide the buying entity, signatory authority, target quantity and unit, destination, requested specification, delivery window and preferred payment structure. An ICPO should be consistent with the inquiry. Do not send identity documents or full banking records through an introductory form.
Inspection and terminal loading
Agree the sampling point, independent inspector, laboratory methods, quantity determination and discrepancy procedure before loading. Clarify who appoints and pays the inspector. A refinery certificate and a terminal stock statement have different purposes and should be verified with their issuers.
Seller representation and availability
A seller mandate must have a defined principal and scope. A Kazakhstan-related inquiry does not establish Kazakhstan origin, refinery supply or export permission. Verify the authorization and the specific cargo chain. Product references on this site are not stock listings, allocations or binding commercial offers.
Frequently asked questions
Is an EN590 certificate sufficient to confirm supply?
No. Quality evidence, ownership, export permissions and authority to sell are separate checks. Verify documents with their issuers and agree cargo-specific inspection.
Is there a published minimum order or fixed price?
No. Quantity, price basis, origin and delivery window depend on the supply principal’s written offer and the agreed contract.
