INTERNATIONAL PETROLEUM REPRESENTATION

KazExpo Oil Trade

Verify before you rely.

Check identity independently

A logo, copied website, messaging profile or familiar display name can be imitated. Check the full domain and legal entity. Obtain contact details independently rather than relying only on the email, link or phone number included in a document you are verifying.

Treat payment changes as a separate verification event

Independently confirm any new beneficiary, account or payment instruction with an authorized person through an established channel. Do not rely on urgency, a forwarded conversation or a purported bank letter to establish authenticity.

Question unsupported charges

Requests for document activation, allocation release, tank extension or inspection access need a clear contractual basis and a verifiable service provider. A fee request is not evidence that product exists. Confirm the beneficiary and what service is being purchased before considering payment.

Verify evidence with its issuer

Check mandate letters with the principal, terminal records with the terminal and inspection reports with the named inspection company. Use independently obtained details. A genuine document may still be expired, altered, irrelevant to the offered cargo or disclosed without permission.

Preserve and escalate concerns

Keep relevant correspondence and document versions. Stop sharing sensitive information while identity is unresolved. For a suspected fraud involving funds, contact your bank and appropriate authorities promptly. Read the mandate verification steps before relying on a representative.
