Fuel oil sourcing & commercial coordination

Fuel oil requirements vary across marine, industrial and power applications. Establish the end use and applicable grade before reviewing supply proposals.

Application and specification

State whether the fuel is intended for marine use, power generation or industrial equipment. Applicable standards and local emissions requirements differ. Technical acceptance should be confirmed by the buyer and operator for the specific use.

Quality considerations

A commercial specification may need viscosity at a stated temperature, density, sulfur, flash point, water, sediment and stability requirements. Blended products also require attention to compatibility. Use explicit test methods and limits in the contract.

Heating, pumping and storage

Confirm temperature requirements, pumping capability and receiving tank suitability with terminal operators. The logistics plan should account for heating costs, contamination controls and any segregation requirements. A technically acceptable product can still be unsuitable for the proposed handling system.

Requesting a commercial review

Supply grade, quantity, end use, destination, delivery window and applicable sulfur requirements. Read the compliance overview and agree independent inspection before committing to a cargo. Prices and availability require written seller confirmation.

Define your requirement.

Share the grade, quantity, destination and timing. Product availability remains subject to confirmation.
